Frame drum, meditation drum, 23 inches

Description

This drum is unique for many reasons. It’s an incredible frame drum, crafted from acacia wood, 4,000-year-old black oak, and calfskin from an animal that died a natural death. This is important both for ethical reasons and also affects the quality of the leather and, consequently, the sound. I first made the 23-inch drum at the request of Murat Coskun. Later, an even larger 25-inch drum was created. This drum has a very powerful bass sound, a beautiful richness of overtones, and is comfortable to play. It is designed for meditative playing and accompanying singing or other melodic instruments. It is an excellent solo instrument because the rhythms and melodies emerge naturally; you simply listen and let yourself be guided.

Our frame drums are played by, among others, Zohar Fresco, Yshai Afterman, Murat Coskun, Andrea Picconi, Marla Leigh, Oray Yay, Michał Pękosz, Patrycja Betley, Wojciech Lubertowicz and many other great musicians in Poland and around the world.
